Reception for Vassilopita cutting of KEDISA at IST College-17 February 2020

The reception for the vasilopita cutting of the Center for International Strategic Analyses (KEDISA) for the year 2020 took place on Monday, 17th February 2020, at the hospitable premises of IST College in Athens. The reception was attended by former Ministers, Ambassadors, Diplomats, Officers of the Greek Armed Forces and the Security corps,  Representatives of Foreign Diplomatic Missions in Greece, Representatives of Greek and Foreign Research Institutes, the partners, contributors and many friends of KEDISA. A great honour for KEDISA was the participation at the reception of the former Vice Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Industry Mr. Ioannis Valinakis and Mr. Theodors Damianos, the Representative of the Chief of the General Staff of the Hellenic Navy (Vice Admiral Stylianos Petrakis) Mr. Dimitrios Varemente, the Honorary Chief of the General Staff of the Hellenic Army Mr. Constantinos Gkinis, the Lt.Generals ret. Mr. Ippokratis Daskalakis, Mr.Ioannis Baltzois, Mr.Lampros Tzoumis and Mr. Efthimios Charokopos, the Vice-Admiral ret. Mr. Angelos Chrysikopoulos, the Director of Education & Training of the Hellenic Military Academy Brigadier Mr. Anastasios Polychronos, the President of the Republicans Abroad in Greece Mrs.Aikaterini Papathanasiou,  the President of the Greek Section of the Association of European Journalists Mrs. Sagia Tsaousidou, H.E. the Ambassador of Chile Mrs. Ximena Ares, the Deputy Heads of Missions of the Embassy of Portugal Mr. Joao Ricardo Mendes, of  the Embassy of Switzerland Mr. Marc Bruchez and of the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania Mrs. Ruta Vaiciuniene, the Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia Mrs. Aleksandra Stankovic, the Counsellor of the Embassy of Hungary Mr. Tamas Toth, the Consul of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea Mr. Gyoyeon Lee, the Second Secretary of the Embassy of Albania Mr. Eno Collaku, the Honorary Consul of Ecuador Mrs. Susana Vasquez Alvear, the Director of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Greece Mr. Henri Bohnet and the Director of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Greece Mr. Ulrich Storck.
In his brief speech, the Founder and President of KEDISA Dr. Andreas G. Banoutsos made a detailed account of the activities of KEDISA for 2019, noting that the centre held a total of five (5) open events and three (3) educational seminars, while dozens of analyses and research work of young scientists in the field of International Relations and Strategic Studies were published on its website, whom KEDISA supports continuously and thus boosts the new generation during the five years since its foundation. In the conclusion of his short speech, he warmly thanked the members of the Board of Directors and the countless associates of the Centre and as well as Mrs. Daphne Fountoukakou (Owner of IST College) and Mr. Ioannis Minadakis (CEO of IST College) for the kind support and hospitality offered by IST College for the activities of KEDISA since Autumn 2018. After the brief speech by Dr. Andreas G.Banoutsos followed the traditional vasilopita cutting by himself in the presence of the Secretary-General of KEDISA Mr. Omiros Tsapalos, the Director of Research of KEDISA Dr.Petros Violakis, member of the Board of Directors Ms. Anastasia Tsimpidis as well as the intern students of KEDISA, who helped organize the reception. The lucky person of the evening was Mrs. Kate Psarrou, who found the coin hidden in the vasilopita. The gift for the lucky person of the evening was a commemorative office compass to show the path throughout 2020.
