We would like to inform you that from today, October 1, 2020, Dr.Panagiotis Sfaelos, a member of the Scientific Committee of KEDISA, will assume the duties of Director of Research at KEDISA after the resignation of Dr.Petros Violakis from the position as well as a member of the Board of Directors due to taking up academic duties at the Rabdan Academy in Abu Dhabi.
Dr.Panagiotis Sfaelos is a Lawyer, International Relations Expert and Journalist, Secretary General of the Association of European Journalists, a member of the United Writers’ Union of the United Kingdom and the International Federation of Journalists and Professor at the Hellenic Police Officers School. He holds a PhD in European Law from the University of Kent. His doctoral dissertation deals with European Immigration and Asylum Law after the Treaty of Amsterdam. He holds a Master of Laws (LLM) with a degree in European Law from the University of Kent.He holds a Bachelor of Law (LLB) from the University of Leicester and a BA in International European Studies from the University of South Bank in London (Degree recognized by the Department of International and European Studies at Panteion University). He also holds a degree in Journalism from the London School of Journalism and the Antenna School of Media.
The Founder & President of KEDISA Dr.Andreas G. Banoutsos wished good luck to Dr.Panagiotis Sfaelos for taking up his new duties. At the same time, he warmly thanked Dr.Petros Violakis for his very important contribution to the development of KEDISA since February 2017, when he took over his duties as Director of Research and from July 2018 as a member of the Board of Directors and wished him every success in his new duties at the Rabdan Academy in Abu Dhabi. Dr.Andreas G. Banoutsos will recommend Dr.Petros Violakis at the next General Assembly of the Partners of KEDISA to be declared the first Honorary member of KEDISA in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Charter of the Association.
